With impeccable style and taste for jewels, we could not wait to pick the brain of the creative genius herself Sharona Harris, the Creative Director of F+H Jewellery based in Byron Bay, Australia...
1. We adore your designs! What inspired your latest collection?
My latest AW19 collection PRIMAL, was inspired by my lifelong obsession with animal prints, and the primal strength of women. I created a minimalist version of animal prints by adding textures to metal to represent tiger stripes and snakeskin and complimenting this with tonal gemstones.
2. How do current fashion trends influence your outtake on jewellery?
My first priority is always to stay true to my personal style, which is a little tomboy and edgy and with reference to the 70s, 80s and 90s. I then combine this with styling and shapes that are current and modern to keep it fresh and forward. It’s is definitely more important to me to stay true to myself and F+H than to chase trends.
3. Which fashion icon do you feel best styles jewellery and clothing?
I adore Bianca Jagger her style in the 70s was incredible, her love of suiting and androgynous tailoring at that time was a key inspiration for me, but she could also look incredibly sexy in a slip dress at Studio 54. To me that is what the F+H girl is all about.
4. Wardrobe must-haves?
The perfect blazer, slip dress and statement earrings. With this you can go anywhere.
5. Which pieces would look best with our new Bianca range?
I think our Primal Pearl Earrings would look incredible with your netted fabrics and animal-striped prints. Match made in heaven!
6. You’re based in Byron Bay! How lucky are you! Where are the best hot spots in town?
OMG yes Byron is a dream, my favourite restaurant at the moment is Barrio with a fabulous Argentinean chef, Bay Leaf is the best breakfast in town, and if you want to dance you can’t beat Locura, the music is incredible.
7. What is the Byron girl’s style?
There are so many different looks here in Byron, you’ve got the bohemian girls, the edgier alternative scene and then the linen minimalists, but the key is always easy-wear styling which is enhanced with gorgeous accessories.
8. Favourite Isabelle Quinn pieces?
I adore the Duke Dress in Zebra stripes and the Martini Midi Dress, so cool and great for dressing down for day or hitting the dance floor at night!
